I have been grappling with a new front door ensemble for my house. Jody inspired me last week with her post on a friend's front door so I thought I'd give it a go. The brown 8-paneled door that I currently have could REALLY stand to be replaced. Let me paint the picture for all of you...the architectural lines of the house are contemporary and somewhat linear, there is little to no depth and lots of rectangular and triangular windows. To compliment the architecture and give the house an updated "modern-beachy" feel, I thought a horizontally grooved door would be a great option! ...
I love how minimalistic this feels and the black...OMG!
The natural state of this door feels very nautical and ship-like
This door is quite funky.
It's not really my speed but definitely worth mentioning.
I love the wide scale, the clean simplicity and the clear glass surrounding this door.
Not to mention the super clean and modern hardware. It's perfection!
I am obsessed with this sconce! We used a smaller
version for a client of ours. I love the long shape of this
particular fixture and think it would compliment the modern door perfectly.
As for house numbers...no door is complete without them.
These are modern and very reasonably priced! P.S. I would not
put them on the door but rather to the side of the door :)
To add some depth and interest to the front door I will add 2 of these
planters with green boxwoods to finish things off.
